Luke 6:27-30 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
Forbear those who have wronged you and those who have done evil towards you. Even if we have the 'right' to retaliate, we have the choice not to. Would we choose the choice that pleases God? Be willing to sacrifice much more for others. We are unable to love as Christ does with our own love. We can love our friends, our family with our own love, but we cannot love our enemies with our own love. So we ought to love them with the love of Christ :)

I have a struggle - the more head knowledge I have, the more vexed I feel when I cannot do. Reminds me of clinicals, can strategise, can't communicate with the patient and assess his sense of touch, vision, dressing, walking.
But need even more grace to do something like loving your enemies - God sees the heart
