Message 3: Hands That Shed Innocent Blood

“These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, an heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.” Proverbs 6: 16-19

 1. Hands that shed innocent blood = Murder

(a)  Satan was a murderer from the beginning (John 8:44).

      Why was Satan the 1^st murderer?

(b) Which is the commandment “Thou shall not kill”?

      Intentional taking another person’s life - Murder

(c) Murder in other forms

      - Judas Iscariot is a murderer (Matt 27:4)

      - abortion, suicide
      -  Euthanasia (mercy-killing)?

(d) Murderers have no place in the Kingdom of God now (Gal 5:21) or hereafter (Rev 21:8)

  

2. Sinful Anger and Hatred = Heart Murder

(a)  The teachings of Jesus in Matt 5: 21-22 of the 6^th commandment

      - sinful anger = murder

(b)  1 John 3:15 “Hating a brother”

            - hatred = murder

  

3. Example of a Murder recorded in the Bible (Gen 4:1-8)

(a)  The first murder by man

(b)  Am I my brother’s keeper? (Gen 4:9).
