1. There is a deep profound change in us.
Before Paul was converted, he was a man of his own mind, doing things without being told or paid or even how to do it. After he was converted, he lost all his arrogance, his confidence, he became a new man, a changed man. He was truly converted as he obeyed and went to Damascus despite knowing the dangers ahead. When he asked 'what will you have me to do', he really meant it, not out of rebellion or anything. There was that deep profound change. It was no more 'I want to do this' but 'Lord what will you have me to do'. Although we are not saved by the same dramatic change of Paul, we must be sure that the same change happened to us. 2 Corinthians 5:17 " Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." There is nothing other than the joy of salvation that will protect us from the traps of the world.
2. He is done with the things he used to do.
We will get rid of the things that we previously liked to do but end up giving them up because God is displeased with them. It is the end of what I like to do and the beginning of what you
want me to do. Are we ready to stop doing what we are not supposed to do for God?
3. There is a change of the person I do things for.
Colossians 3:23 "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; " Are we going to Ebenezer for men or for God? In our area of service, there are times where we will be unappreciated. Does it matter whether if someone doesnt praise us for our service? Are we doing it for God or for men? If we are sacrificing something for others, according to God's commandment, then do not bother mentioning it. If we count our sacrifices, we are not really doing it for God but for men. It is enough that God knows only.
