Prayers that God will always answer

We had a combined Shomerim and Ebenezer outing on Saturday at East Coast Park! :) We first had a message, then played some games and cycled, and went for dinner together. Thank God for good fellowship and good weather. Uncle John shared with us on the topic "Prayers that God will always answer" and his scripture text was taken from Exodus 32:7-14.

When Moses went up to Mount Sinai to receive the ten commandments for 40 days, the Israelites who were waiting below decided to build a golden calf. Moses heard about it from God who wanted to destroy the nation, and his first reaction was to pray before confronting the people. We can learn from Moses' prayer:

1) Pray as the Word of God says
What Moses prayed was exactly what God had said. We must pray according to the Scriptures, and it is alright even if it's word-for-word. To do this, we must know the Scriptures.

2) Pray to the glory of God
God was willing to give Moses a nation named after his name, after He destroyed the Israelites. But Moses was not looking at his own glory and namesake. When we pray, we must appeal to the glory of God. When we pray for good results, good health, is it for the glory of God?

3) Pray appealing to God's covenant
Don't tell God how good we are, tell God how great He is. Don't appeal to ourselves, but appeal to God's faithfulness and trustworthiness.

Then God will always answer these prayers! :)
