If God be for us, who can be against us?

Last saturday Brother Amos spake to us on the topic "If God be for us, who shall be against us?' taken from romans 8:31.

Romans 8:31 "What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?"

1. Since God be for us, why do bad things still happen?
-Things are 'bad' only because we look at it from our human's perspective. Try looking at things from God's perspective.
-Bad things happen to help men comprehend the power of God.
-Bad things, like pain and death, are sometimes used by God to judge our sins.
Prov 3:11-12 teaches us not to despise the chastening of God for it is by love and to perfect us.
-Our sufferings might bring others to Christ and teach us a greater lesson.
-Thus, we must be ready to endure what situation we might be in, because everything is done for a reason in God's perspective.

2. Is there anyone who can be against us? NO!
-Hardship, pain and sufferings can never triumph over us if God be for us.
-Nothing can separate us from the love of God.
-vs 37 "we are more than conquerors through him that loveth us"
-Thus, nothing can be against us, not even ourselves, because we have an assurance in Christ that will never be lost.

What a comforting thought to know that God says "I am for you"!
