Hi all,
I had felt burden to post the following which is a reflection after today video.
To live or to die in martyrdom
This topic is one that I bet majority of Christian will shun away from discussion
Imagine someone point a gun at your head and says:
"I will shoot if you say you are a Christian" OR "If you don't spit at the bible, I will shoot"
What will be your response. Many, including me, at our first instinct, will be to say I am not Christian or to spit at the bible. This is due to the lack of preparedness to die as a martyr or lack of faith that Christ will provide for us.
After watching today's video after service, it had struck deep in me this fundamental question: Are you prepared to laid down your life for Jesus?
Those martyr really answered "Yes". Thank God for their deep devotion and commitment to serve God till dead. They are worthy of exhortation and praise.
We are really fortunate that we can worship the LORD, our God, in such a nice sanctuary in various churches across the island. But there are still oppressed Christians, persecuted for God sake. This should not be surprising, as God had prophesier that we will face persecution and since the servant is not greater than his master, even our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ is being nailed to the cross, what our fate will be.
Hence, we should brace ourselves and pray for the Holy Spirit help to help us to be prepared to stand firm to our faith and be willing and glad to die as a martyr if we are ever faced with the situation.
As Pastor Ho had said in his closing prayer "What is life worth (if we denied Christ)", it is indeed sad that we cherish our lives so much that we were either to lose our eternal life (due to our cranial mind) or to be ashamed at Bema seat of judgement like a person whom ran out naked from a burning house of hay, wool or stubble.
As the early congregation had prayed for boldness and had obtain so, may we also prayed to God to help us to be prepared to sacrifice to God - even our life.
May God help us through :)
"And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness" - Acts 4:31
God Bless,
Jun Kai
