1. The first 5 books of the bible

-another names are Books of law or pentitude
-Genesis: begins with creation
-Exodus(means depart): Israel in bondage in egypt for 430yrs
-Numbers: journey in the wilderness to enter the promise land
-written by Moses


2. Brief chronology of events and map

-Israel stayed at Mount Sinai for 10months 2odays!
why? They needed time to recieve instruction, build tabernacle, prepare themself.
Thus, we should WAIT ON THE LORD!! His timing is the perfect timing!


3. Outline of Numbers

-prepare to leave Mount Sinai
-wandering in the Wilderness
-Off to the east of Jordan
-promise land


4. People

-603550 men were taking part in the war! Estimated total 2million people were on the journey! Moses had such a huge responsibility!
-Levites were not included in the numbering of people becoz their job is the take care of the tabernacle.
Similarly, all of us have different jobs in Ebenezer! we just have to strive to do our part and do our job well! Dont have to compare who does more or less becoz our true reward is in heaven! (:
