How to share the Gospel

Speaker: Preacher Lek Aik Wee
Scripture Passage: Acts 8: 26-40

The Gospel is the good news. The summary of the Gospel is from 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures."

How to receive the Gospel: Romans 10:9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

When we have experienced God's power and goodness in our life, we will have the desire to share it. Our duty is to spread the Gospel, and the Holy Spirit is the one who does the conviction work. Sharing the Gospel is a process and not a one-time effort. Although we may be discouraged when our friends or relatives are not receptive to the Gospel, we must still strive on. It will require time and sacrifice on our part.

How to share the Gospel
- God Loves You (John 3:16)
- All Are Sinners (Romans 3:23)
- God's Remedy for Sin (Romans 6:23)
- All May Be Saved Now (Revelation 3:20)
- My Decision to Receive Christ As My Saviour

Pictorial tool to share the Gospel: The Bridge of Life

In the beginning, God created Man.

Man was created to love God, but man chose to sin against Him.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

Since God is holy and man is sinful, sin separates man from God.

Because man is cut off from God who gives him life, death is the result.

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).

The judgment that everyone has to face after death, is to suffer eternally in hell.
As sinners, man cannot do anything to get back to God.

This is because of sin that still stands as a barrier between man and God.

But the Bible also tells us that God loves man and came into this world as Jesus Christ to bridge this gap between sinful man and a holy God.

Jesus Christ died by being nailed on the cross to take the punishment for sins.

“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

Not only did Jesus die for our sins, but He was buried and arose from the grave on the third day. No one else in history has ever risen from the dead. This means that no one but Jesus can save us.

“Jesus saith…, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me” (John 14:6).

In order to be saved by Jesus, you need to turn away from your sins and turn to Him alone.

When you turn to Jesus, you must believe in Him and receive Him into your life.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

“But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name” (John 1:12).

“All that the Father giveth me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out” (John 6:37).

Does all this make sense to you?
Will you come to Jesus for salvation right now?
